We celebrate this season, not because everything is perfect, but because, in our very great imperfection, God loves us and will not leave us. God is there in the neighbors and organizations that ensure everyone in their community is provided for. God God made God’s self known to us in Jesus to show us that – in the face of all our short-comings – God extends to us hope, joy, love, and peace.

When all seemed lost, peace was born. All may not be perfect, but all will be well. 💛 God of Hope,
Be with us in the heaviness of our days and in the weariness of our hearts. Let your light shine in the corners of our lives where shadows linger. Let your hope take root in us and grow this season. Help us to see the ways we can Hope is choosing to kindle light even while the darkness still surrounds us.

Hope is opening our weary hearts to the possibility that God is doing something new — even if we cannot yet see how.

Hope is opening our weary hearts to the possibility that God is doing something new — even if we cannot yet see how.
Hope is trusting that Love is already on the move, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad!,” the scripture says. Let us rejoice and be glad not only for the food on our table, but for the hands that prepared it and the people we share it with. Not only for the kind Gratitude is meant to be more than a seasonal theme or a one-meal conversation starter. May the gratitude we practice today—naming our blessings, noticing small kindnesses, remembering what sustains us—become a steadier spiritual rhythm, Gratitude embodied becomes a lens through which we see the world, a rhythm that attunes us to God’s presence, and a motivation to participate in the ongoing work of love and justice that God is doing all around us.

Keep a journal where you rec Loving God,
Give us patience during times when gratitude is hard to find, and the faith that it will indeed be found.
Amen.

#tabletalk #togetherness #diversity #allvoices #youarewelcomehere #allarewelcomehere #thewelcometable #thewelcometableco @ Gratitude runs deep, as if springing up from the calmer depths beneath the rapids, from beneath the fury of the hustle and bustle of the season, from beneath the torrents of life’s unexpected twists and turns. It rises up from within, sometimes Thankfulness is a momentary sentiment in response to something that happens - a gift given by a friend, stranger holding the door, a phone call from my pastor. Gratitude, however, is more like a Spiritual practice. It is a deep sense of gratefulnes Even now, when gratitude seems to be the word of the moment for so many things - books, lists, seasons. Gratitude can be difficult to find.

Has gratitude ever been difficult for you to find? What helped you shift out of that space?
