Take a moment to notice the things around you. What do you hear? What do you feel around you? What do you feel within you? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Choose one thing you would like to remember. Notice the details. Study it with your heart What would you do if you found out you had only one day to live. How would you spend it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If we lived like this, perhaps we would all spend our wild and precious life with more attentiveness and intention toward a Ask a child in your life how they know or recognize they are loved. What helps to remind them of that truth? Then, ask them how they can show others that they love and care about them – could they draw a picture, write a letter, offer a gift? Even when we are not thinking about it or focused on it, even when we don’t expect it – it’s there – the kind of love that catches us off guard, that shows up when we least expect it and doesn’t expect anything in return You matter. You are beloved. In the busyness of this season and our lives, open our hearts to the in-breaking of your love. By your love, make room in our hearts for your hope. Make room in our lives for your peace. Make room in our lives for your joy. Teach us not
This Christmas, may love make room again as it did in that Bethlehem stable so long ago. May it find space in the midst of our too-full lives, in the cries of neighbors who are hurting, in the work of healing our communities, and in the yearning for God of Joy,
